Realizing that circulation is key to gaining and retaining readers, and in recognition of the vital role circulation departments play in the newspaper business, the PNA Foundation has created a series of awards to honor the best in the state.
District Sales Manager or Single Copy Manager of the Year
This award goes to the district sales manager or single copy manager who has done an outstanding job in his or her field. Someone who developed a great sales, service or collection program, and is overall a great asset to the team or provides leadership, community spirit, etc. above and beyond the call of duty.
Circulation Executive of the Year
This award goes to the circulation director who has done an outstanding job in his or her field. Someone who developed a great marketing effort or an innovative program and whose efforts helped the community.
2007 Circulation Executive of the Year: Michael Foux, The Morning Call, Allentown
Newspaper Hero of the Year
This award goes to the circulation employee and/or carrier who goes above and beyond their job to provide outstanding customer service. Did the contest nominee help in a special situation? Did he or she make a life saving phone call or help police in solving a crime? Maybe the nominee reported an early morning house fire, saving the occupants. These are the kinds of heroic acts we are looking for.
