Lifetime Achievement Award

Honoring outstanding service and accomplishment spanning a career in journalism.

The Lifetime Achievement Award recognizes an individual who has performed an outstanding service and accomplishment spanning a career in journalism. The nominee must (1) be a present or former publisher or senior manager of a Pennsylvania newspaper and (2) have spent a significant part of his or her career working in Pennsylvania. Nominations may only be made by current or former owners or employees of Pennsylvania Newspaper Association members. The goal is to recognize a track record of excellence and service to newspapers and journalism.

The award is presented at the PNA Annual Dinner at the Annual Convention. Contact Rae Elise Williard, (717) 703-3062, with questions or concerns.

2008 Lifetime Achievement Award winners: David Beihoff, retired president of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette and Edward J. Lynett Jr., retired editor and publisher of The Scranton Times

2007 Lifetime Achievement Award winner: James Dible, retired CEO, president and publisher of Times Publishing Co., Erie

2006 Lifetime Achievement Award winner: Edith Hughes, director of community relations, Gateway Newspapers, Monroeville

2005 Lifetime Achievement Award winner: John Curley, professor and distinguished professional in residence and co-director of the Center for Sports Journalism, The Pennsylvania State University
