- Publications - Members receive free copies of a quarterly tabloid, Press, which is the official trade publication of the Pennsylvania Newspaper Association. Also, members can sign up free of charge for Headlines & Deadlines, a weekly e-newsletter.
- Legal Hotline - A free legal hotline is available for members who have questions on legal matters. PNA attorneys routinely provide members with advice on HIPAA, open records, the state Sunshine Act, use of independent contractors, libel, telemarketing, copyrights, the Pennsylvania Shield Law and legal advertising. Many reporters from PNA member newspapers rely on PNA's attorneys for expert quotes on stories involving legal issues.
- Advertising Placement Services - Use MANSI, PennSCAN, Newslink, the 2x2 Network and other free advertising services available with a PNA membership.
- Affinity Partners - Receive discounts on services such as collections, insurance, accounting, communications, legal, news services, news print suppliers and printing.
- PNA Staff Experts - All PNA staff is trained to meet the needs of your publication. If you need advertising, accounting, meeting or education services, the PNA staff is here to serve you.
- America East - Experience the leading regional trade show for the newspaper industry. In addition to a lively show floor, attendees are also treated to an annual slate of outstanding educational sessions and seminars. In addition to production issues, workshops address advertising, editorial, circulation, computer design and other departmental needs. For more than ten years, the New Media World symposium has been a conduit for online issues and advances. And, our Print Quality Contest - one of the few of its kind in the country - serves as an avenue for recognition and education on printing.
- Contests and Awards - Finally, some recognition for all those long hours! PNA Foundation hosts over a dozen awards for papers to win annually, including: Newspaper of the Year, Public Service Award, Newspaper Carrier of the Year, Lifetime Achievement Award, Keystone Press Awards and many more.
- Press Passes - Receive a yearly Pennsylvania Press Pass. Media personnel who work or freelance for Pennsylvania newspapers and broadcasters are now eligible to apply for a Press Pass, a personalized press credential for only $6.
- Pennsylvania Newspaper Directory - A valuable resource for newspaper staff that includes contact information for PNA members, including daily, non-daily and college newspapers, as well as affiliate members. It also includes PNA member specifics: information on groups, circulation, subscription costs, mechanicals and presses and key personnel at all newspapers listed. Also listed are officers and directors of the PNA as well as the committees and members of the PSNE and the PWPA.
- Editorial Cartoon Service - A syndicated package of statewide editorial cartoons by Randy Bish, offered by the Pennsylvania Newspaper Association. Each subscriber receives at least three cartoons per week for just $6.
- Newspaper Exchange - A free service that allows members to keep up to date on trends in newspaper content and design by exchanging their products with participating newspapers across the Commonwealth. To become part of the Newspaper Exchange, e-mail Sheri Virnig.
- Press parking tags - Issued to PNA members each year, identifying them as members of the PNA. If your newspaper needs extra parking tags, please e-mail Sheri Virnig.
- Personnel Referral Service - Provided by the Pennsylvania Newspaper Association to assist our members in personnel placement. Persons seeking employment and member newspapers with openings may advertise for free in our publications. All resumes are kept on file for 12 months. Member newspapers may call the Association office for direct referrals free of charge.
- Listserv and Discussion Groups - Communicate with other members. Newspaper Association Managers (NAM) has their own discussion groups on our Web site. These discussion groups include: NAM Executive Directors, NAM Membership Directors, NAM Advertising Directors, NAM Publication Directors, NAM Statewide Classified and NAM Technology. There are also discussion groups in such areas as America East, Government Affairs and Newspaper In Education programs.
