PNA Events

Each year, the Pennsylvania Newspaper Association provides conferences throughout the state for the various departments of our member newspaper companies. These conferences and events allow our members to gather for one to three days to expand their revenue-generating opportunities, management skills and industry knowledge through educational sessions, outstanding speakers and facilitators, networking and social events.


America East - The leading regional newspaper trade show and technology conference is held each spring in Hershey. While more than 100 newspaper suppliers exhibit their products and services, a variety of cutting-edge educational sessions, seminars and user group meetings are held during three value-packed days.

PNA Annual Convention - Publishers, general managers and key staffers attend for two and a half days of educational opportunities, serious discussions and social gatherings. Industry leaders and expert speakers share valuable knowledge on the latest issues affecting revenue, staffing, management, growth and change.

PNA Advertising Conference
- Classified and retail advertising directors, managers and sales reps are encouraged to attend this annual conference, held in conjunction with IAMA. Revenue-generating ideas top the list of valuable topics addressed over two days as well as managers' roundtables, sales training and multi-media sales opportunities.

PA Press Conference - This May conference focuses on issues of importance to editors and reporters. Whether it's staying relevant in a changing media world, building readership, crafting stories, managing multi-media newsrooms, etc., there is something for everyone throughout two days. PSNE and PAPME co-sponsor this conference in conjunction with PWPA and SPJ.

Carrier Golf Outing - The Pennsylvania Newspaper Association Foundation Carrier Golf Outing is a unique and fun opportunity for you to help benefit the annual Newspaper Carrier of the Year contest. Each year, carriers of all ages enter the contest to compete for the prestigious honor of being recognized as one of the best.

PNA Winter Management Seminar - Each winter a group of publishers, general managers and owners gather in a tropical location to address their most pressing industry issues. Ideas are generated and solutions are found through facilitated sessions and activities.

January 29 - February 5, 2010

PNA Foundation Auction - Held in conjunction with the annual publishers' convention, the Auction raises funds to assist the Foundation with its many services. Members bid on donated items during a fun and festive evening.

Media Lawyers Conference
- Each year, attorneys representing media companies gather to discuss the latest issues and cases involving media law, defamation, privacy, open records and the like. Continuing legal education credits are awarded in conjunction with the PA Bar Institute.
